Hi, I'm John Paul Vasquez. Hi, I'm Travis Hunter. This week, we're recording live

from Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital discussing the 2011 found footage horror film, Grave Encounters.

This film was written and directed by the Vicious Brothers, Colin Minnahan and Stuart Ortiz.

Intrigued by the idea of a found footage horror film centered around a paranormal reality show,

the Vicious Brothers set out to make one themselves.

After the teaser trailer for the film went viral in 2010, it was released at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2011.

It was met with mixed reception and continues to be a polarizing film,

panned by some for its premise in CGI and hailed by others

as a delightful descent into madness. This film was recommended to us by friends of the show,

Brittany Ramatar, Molly Gerhardt, Dylan, Sidney Carr, Blaine Hancock, Jasmine, and our daughter,

Ariana Vasquez. We want to thank them all for their support as well as a suggestion.

So, what did you guys think of Grave Encounters the first time you saw it?

I think the first time we watched this was at your parent house.

Yeah.

I can't remember how long ago that was.

But I remember really liking the movie.

And I remember that it was, I remember being

funnier than it was. Uh, and watching it now, it's, it's, it's, it's still kind of funny, but it's

at the beginning. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The beginning is like comedy. Yeah. It's like a spoof almost.

Yeah. But this movie, uh movie works for me a lot.
