Hello? Hello, Sydney. What is up, you spooky bitches? We are back with another episode of the Hello Sydney podcast here, a podcast for horror lovers where we discuss any and all things horror, and it's me, your girl, Sydney. How is everybody doing on this fine Wednesday? Happy Wednesday. Happy mid-January

0:28.7

already. Jesus. I feel like last year, January went by at a snail's pace and now it's already

0:34.5

halfway through the month. I mean, is it flying by for anybody else?

0:38.7

I feel like it's going by so fast. Anybody watch the Golden Globes this weekend? I sure did.

0:44.0

Sinners, I feel like got snubbed, unfortunately, but I expected that because horror always gets

0:48.9

snubbed. So, I mean, that's exactly what I expected, unfortunately, but maybe one day, or maybe at the Oscars,

0:56.0

but unfortunately, I highly doubt that, which sucks. But a lot of movies I haven't seen,

1:01.5

honestly, that are up against it. So I can't really compare. I can't really say whether they

1:05.6

were deserving against sinners or not, how I feel about them. So I can't really fucking speak on

1:10.0

it anyway. But I do love me some

1:11.7

sinners. They did win box office achievement. So at least they got something. And Frankenstein didn't

1:16.6

get anything either. I don't think Golden Globes does like costume or makeup or anything. But I guarantee

1:22.5

Frankenstein will be nominated for that at the Oscars. And I do foresee them winning that. So at least we'll

1:27.2

get something. I see that happening. Let's see what new horror movies have come out. We talked about primate last week. 28 years later, Bone Temple is coming out this week. I was supposed to see an early screening on Monday, but something came up so I wasn't able to see it. So I'm going to go see it Thursday afternoon instead. I actually have really high hopes for that because I actually did like the 28 years later that came out last year. It was pretty divided. But I did enjoy it. And I've heard nothing but good reviews about this one from people who have already seen it. I'm hearing that it is like five stars. Everybody's saying five stars. So I'm hoping that I don't have my hopes up too high. But I don't know. I have a pretty good feeling about it. So we're going to see this week. Today we're talking about a movie of 2025 that I absolutely loved and then unfortunately also got snubbed at the Golden Globes. It was nominated for a few things. Did not win for anything. But we're talking about weapons, of course, from 2025, written and directed by Zach Kreger, who also wrote and directed Barbarian, which

2:22.2

if you're familiar with Barbarian, it's weird as fuck. And weapons is also pretty fucking weird,

2:27.5

but it's my kind of weird. It's like exactly the kind of weird that I want in a movie.

2:32.9

Like this movie is so me. Like it's honestly everything I want in a movie. Like this movie is so me. Like it's it's honestly

2:36.0

everything I want in a movie. It's fucking weird. It's got great scares. It's got the perfect

2:41.3

amount of comedic relief. I think placed at exactly the right time. I love the way that the story

2:46.6

unfolds and how it's done kind of in like chapters. And there's times during this movie where you see

2:51.5

the same event unfold, but from a different person's perspective. So you're seeing how things

2:56.3

are seen through their eyes a little bit differently. I just kind of think it's like a master
