Welcome. This is Coming Out with Lauren and Nicole. We are a weekly podcast where normally we bring on queer folks from all walks of life and they tell us the tales of how they came out to friends, family, and the world at large. Because who doesn't love a coming out story?

But we're doing something a little different again this week.

We wanted to mix up the format a little.

And we had an opportunity that kind of fell in our lap to have a very exciting guest outside of the realm

of the folks who we usually speak to. So we're here today with Dr. Regina Baker. Dr. Baker is

associate professor of surgery for the Division of Plastic Surgery at USC. That is her official

title that I had to write down in my notes have to remember,

but in more layman's terms, a lot of what Dr. Baker does is work in the trans health division,

and she performs gender affirming surgery. We will, I will, you know what, let me throw it to you

to explain what you do as opposed to my very stilted version.

So again, as Lauren and Nicole alluded to, a large part of my practice is treating

transgender health patients. And me, being a plastic surgeon, performed gender affirming surgery,

mostly top surgery, but other things like facial feminization and things like that.
