The Hello, welcome to Yoga Download. My name is Aaron Weimer and I am here with a twisting class for you.

And how I like to approach twisting is instead of forcing the hips to square in one direction

and have your spine moving in another direction,

I like to have the hips and the spine move together.

What that does is it actually frees you up

to find a bigger, longer twist,

but also for a lot of people,

when they force the hips to square in a twist,

that will create like contraction through the aside joints

and the sacrum area, it'll create a little torque.

So this isn't the way to twist,

but I found it's a way that works for most people's bodies

without creating any discomfort in the low back.

I'm gonna use a block today,

and we're gonna start in the sitting position.

So just rest the hands on the thighs. Take a moment to lengthen your spine and allow your eyes to close.

And as you lean back slightly, draw the ears over the shoulders, over the hips.

And then feel the low belly pull in. You'll feel your tailbone. ears, over the shoulders, over the hips.

And then feel the low belly pull in.

You'll feel your tailbone root towards the earth.
