The Ladies and gentlemen welcome to oral presentations episode 15 Ambrose Burnside a shot at

redemption.

This is going to be a straight up social studies episode.

We did animal farm last. I got a little sad on the literary episode and

then there was a couple science ones before that so I was like all right let's do

something at least in the topic area that I like a lot which is social studies and

If you don't know who Ambrose Burnside is or what this is going to be at all

He was a general in the civil War. We're going to be

focusing on the Battle of the Crater, which was part of the Siege of Petersburg.

It takes place in 1864 and that is three years into the Civil War and the Sea

of Petersburg is very important but we'll get to that a little bit later down the

line I'd like to start out by saying I fucking hate the Civil War I just I he and I don't

even like saying that but honestly I can't I I tried to like this I've really try just the time period itself I've never

really been into it and somebody alley-yobed this topic a good friend of mine

alley-yobed this topic to me was like,

Yo, you should check out the Battle of the Crater, it's fucking crazy and he loves the Civil War.

I trust him a lot good dude smart dude but and I started looking into it

And I just and here's the thing

this battle of the crater if you ever seen the movie cold mountain with uh Jude law and that other lady he looks like my aunt um Philip Seymour Hoffman's in it is like a Civil War love story.

I like that movie I don't watch it on my own so make me that's not a good movie to

watch on your own if you're don't watch that alone that's a sad one if you're solo

but cold mountain good as a movie very fun it's long it's a good fall and asleep movie
