Hello, everyone, and welcome back to the podcast. Today's episode is episode 147. Look, I really appreciate you sticking with me on this one. This has been one heck of a wander, but we're really close to finishing up the Cuba series. Today, in our episode, we address the rest of the actual invasion that occurred at the Bay of Pigs.

And then in episode 148, finally, we'll tell that crazy mafia assassination plot against Castro

that involved Johnny Roselli and others.

And then we'll be ready to get back on

the plane and go back to the States where we'll join Jim Garrison for a drink in New Orleans

as he gets ready to prosecute the Clay Shaw trial. Today's episode is about an hour and a half

long. I've made a decision not to break it up anymore. I was exhausted

by the time we finished it. You will be too, I think, and you may have to absorb it in small

chunks at a time. It's nothing like the exhaustion that those men must have experienced,

beginning on the few days in April, 1961, and lasting for many of them during their incarceration

over the next 18 months. Yes, life truly is a game of inches. Either play to win or you're

likely to lose. So, without further ado, let's listen to episode 147 of JFK, The Enduring Secret. We are on our way to our way to Cuba.

Now that we've given you all those details back in episode 146,

we're going to toggle back and forth now a little bit between both the air battle and the

events that took place with the landing force, attempting to tell the story now as the invasion unfolded.

The first event of note happened on April 15th, and it was a strictly Cuban and a strictly

Castro-directed event in anticipation of the invasion.
