Hey, Giant Fans. Welcome to the Giant Insider podcast. My name's Jerry Foley. I'm a senior editor of the Giant Insider newspaper. I'm not using it lightly. Dave Siverton, who's been contributing to the Giant Insider for a few years now. Thankfully, they decided to use all of his info in this issue, which I didn't notice until I got it, till I got the write-up. And I was like, oh, they used Dave this time, the entire write-up. So Dave, welcome back, buddy. Fellas, how are we doing?

Here we are yet again after another trip around the sun talking about the NFL draft.

Isn't it amazing, Dave?

It's another year.

It's amazing how fast and how slow it goes at the same time, especially when you have a two-year-old.

It's incredible because we're exactly one month away from the draft yeah it is i know it's

crazy this is like a fun time of year because you start to see the fruits of your labor just because

there's so much that goes into it you know you start this process of data collection in june and here

we are you know i'm looking at notes that i wrote down on guys in june and, and it's helping me, you know, create the final reports and everything. And, you know, there's no way around this. Just a couple scouting mentors that I have. They said there's no way around the work. You know, you can't shortchange it. And everyone knows if you do. And it's, but it's a really cool thing to be a month out. And it's pretty much done, you know, the grading process. And you put all your stuff out there and, you know, sit back and enjoy the party. Dave, you know, look, this is what you do. You do it year round and all that. As far as, you know, obviously, you know, I covered a team on a daily, the Giants on a daily basis. So then when free agency madness hits, you know, I'm into that. And then right after that, you know, which, you know, it slows down after the fourth or fifth day. You get some names trickling, of course. But, you know, the big wave is those first three to five days, six days. And then I start really diving into this. And I've been diving into these kids a lot the last week, Dave.

And you know what?

We'll get into the, because this is what a lot of Giants fans feel.

That's what I feel, not saying it's definite, but the wide receiver position is something that Joe Shane probably will explore at 25.

He might even move up for a kid they really like, but it's somebody, you know, he wants to add an outside. He wants to add, oh, he wants to add a receiver. Another one for Daniel. He's been plugging in, you know, the Jamison Crowders, you know, just in case guys don't come back. You know, he got chefs coming back from Andrew Wondell won't be back unless he makes a pretty miraculous cover. He probably won't be back until October at least.

So you see what Joe's doing.

He's plugging in these veterans.

And there's going to be a lot of competition.

But wide receivers a spot, Dave.

I feel they're going to heavily explore a 25.

Probably will go there.
