interview for you. I'm talking to a prolific trail builder who has been making single track all over the

Pacific Northwest for decades. He's built killer descents, flowing blue trails, climbing trails,

and pretty much everything in between. We're going to talk about how to find the right terrain

and line to build on, keeping trails natural by balancing maintenance and erosion, riding in the

rain and mud, tools and techniques that he's used, riding e-bikes on his trails, and of course

the politics of it all because building a trail is never as straightforward as building a trail, is it?

Now, he's also built his fair share of unsanctioned single track. And while I'm not

going to shower him with public praise for that work, we're definitely going to talk a bit about the

how, the why, and the why you shouldn't of building illegal trails. So for that reason,

I assume you've been riding forever and building trails nearly as long.

How long you've been doing this for?

I've been riding for 30 years plus and been building trails since the mid 90s.
