Hello, friends. This is Mark Devere here from Nine Marks. A little over 20 years ago now, Jim Packer was going to be here in town for a number of meetings.

And I asked him if I could do an interview with him for Nine Marks.

He said, sure. And he came over, and this is the interview that we did.

We're putting this out again now because the Lord has called Jim home recently, and we are thankful

for him and are remembering him and his work.

And re-releasing this interview is part of the way we want to give thanks to God for the good

that he's done through him.

Our guest today is Dr. James I. Packer,

born in Gloucestershire, England in 1926,

and educated at Oxford University,

earning degrees in classics and theology.

Dr. Packer was ordained in

1952. He served in several churches and academic positions in England until 1979 when he

became professor of systematic and historical theology at Regent College, Vancouver,
