Hi, I'm Renee Hunter Vasquez. Hi, I'm John Paul Vasquez. This week, we're

broadcasting live from a frigid attic discussing the 2007 horror film 30 Days of Night. This film was

directed by David Slade from a screenplay by Steve Niles, Stuart Beatty, and Brian Nelson, based on the

graphic novel of the same name by Niles and Ben Timplesmith.

Set in an isolated Alaskan town, this film offers an interesting take on the vampire myth,

anchored by impressive action sequences, effects, and an inventive premise.

While it received mixed reviews from critics, it more than doubled its production budget

at the box office, and spawned a sequel and a pair

of television miniseries.

So, 30 Days of night, what were your first

impressions on the film? I seen the first time, I seen this movie for the first time with you guys.

I've never seen this movie or heard of it. I think your dad had mentioned it and we watched that,

your parents. I really enjoyed the movie when I first seen it. I did this time as well. There's a few things that I nitpicky things I have a problem with, but I really enjoy the movie. I think it's really good. Yeah, that was the first time I'd seen it too. And the only time that I had seen it before now. Really? Yeah. I was like, holy shit!

The first time I saw it.

This time I'm not as holy shit, but I still really like it.

There are like a couple questions that I'm left with.

Like, when you watch something analytically, it can take some of the magic away from it.
