Summary
It's Smokies Week on the show and plenty of uphills on the way to Clingmans Dome. I became part of, and lost, my first tramily, and loved my time with them.
I also met the very sweet Little Foot (follow her YouTube channel "Hike with Little Foot") and the enormously positive Posi (@MattBurnsFat on Facebook and Instagram).
I even hiked with Ryan Hopkins and his buddy Chris. Ryan is the man putting this show out every week. It was great to meet up with both of them.
Now, I'm alone again and getting out of the Smokies in a couple of days. Max Patch and Hot Springs are upcoming highlights.

| 0:39.1 | mid-life crisis. I'm recording this, nice and warm, in Gatlinburg. It's been several |
| 0:47.4 | days since I left you. I was just about to leave Fontaneda Dam, having recovered my or got a new airpad. And I was looking forward to the Fontana Dam having recovered my air or got a new air pad. |
| 0:56.0 | And I was looking forward to the smokies. |
| 0:58.1 | With some trepidation, I must admit, there's a lot of uphill and the smokers. |
| 1:01.6 | It all seems to be uphill. |
| 1:03.2 | But say, I left you at Fontana Dam and I was just about to head out to across the dam and let's see what happened on day number 20 |
| 1:16.1 | day 20 just passed the Fontana dam shelter mile 165.8 to Molly's Ridge shelter |
| 1:24.7 | mile 177.7. A lot of us were down at a half-past seven, |
| 1:32.1 | hoping to get the 830 shuttle. We didn't actually get our breakfast at a half-past eight. I'm not |
| 1:37.0 | terribly sure what was happening in the kitchen, but I think the cook was having a bit of a meltdown. |
| 1:41.9 | Anyway, the food was great, really enjoyed it, and it was a great stay for me i must say so i missed the shuttle and i didn't start um i eventually got |
| 1:51.1 | the shuttle at about 10 o'clock and it wasn't until 1015 that i started and i knew there was a |
| 1:56.2 | quite a big start you know to the day very intense uphills and it was quite going to be quite a long start, you know, to the day. Very intense up hills and it was going to be quite a long |
| 2:03.9 | day from me. And as you can see from the mileage, it was a 12 mile day, which I'm just starting to get |
| 2:08.0 | up to those those mileages. For those of you who have ever done this, there's something |
| 2:13.7 | quite extraordinary. As you cross the dam, the dam seems to edge away from the mountains, |
| 2:20.7 | but as you edge away from the mountains, they seem to loom up right in front of you. |
