Summary

ADOPTION SERIES PART TWO   Sometimes the things God calls us to don’t make a lot of sense. We’re asked to give up our loaves and fishes, to step out of the boat, or to carry a cross, and there’s no telling what the outcome will be. Johanna and Brian Cannelongo had four biological children when they felt God calling them to not only adopt, but to adopt a child with special needs. Little did they know that their “yes” to this one opportunity would start them down a journey that no one would have either expected or asked for. Johanna and Brian sit down with Davey to share the unimaginable tragedy of their story, but also how that pain isn’t their story’s end.   Episode Resources Check out the blog - www.wildflowerhope.com Follow Johanna on Instagram and Facebook Learn more about their non-profit ministry - Live Gia Grow Forever Foundation on Instagram and Facebook Check out Johanna’s Etsy Shop Resources used by the Cannelongo’s that can help guide families wanting to adopt: Small World Adoption Lifeline Children’s Services   Other Episode Resources: This podcast is sponsored by Faithful Counseling. I am so excited that we are here. This is our second episode in our adoption series.

Yeah. This is a powerful, powerful series, not only just sharing stories of really

0:45.0

faithful people who are following God in really big ways, but also because we're hearing

0:51.0

God's heart for the orphan and we're hearing God's heart for us. And I think it's

0:55.0

just a really beautiful thing that we're doing. So I love that we're in the middle of this series right now.

0:59.0

Yeah. It is such a like a narrative portrayal for us. You know, like you step back and

1:05.0

you just listen to these stories. You go, wow. And you just see a fuller picture of who God is.

1:11.0

Yeah, that's right. That's right. I love Brian and Johanna's story specifically because they take a lot of big

1:19.0

risks and move through fear in a really faithful way when it comes to their adoptions.

1:27.0

Yeah. Yeah. You know, and I, one of the things I was thinking about with this is the tension between

1:35.0

taking those faith steps and, you know, being practical. Sure.

1:41.0

Right. Like particularly they, they're going to mention you'll hear this a lot of the

1:47.0

the financial decisions that they had to make. And the financial responsibility that they had to

1:53.0

take on for some of these adoptions. And that's not an easy decision, you know.

1:59.0

Certainly. It's not like how do I, how do I make sure that we're that we're practical with our finances

2:05.0

and our financial decisions. How do we make sure we're taking care of our home.

2:09.0

And at the same time, and at the same time, God's going to call us to make some big
