Hey there, and welcome to a Friday afternoon edition of TBTL. This is the show that

just might be too beautiful to live. My name is Luke Burbank. I am your host. This is episode

1,324 in a collector's series. Now, we'd had a plan for today's show that involved

talking to our buddy Dan Resteone about this crazy history of this con artist game that

went on in Seattle years and years ago. It was sort of the event that the movie The Sting

was based on. But then a weird thing happened early this morning, and that is that Dan, who's

also a news editor here at the radio station, had to come in at one in the morning because,

as you probably know, unless you've been living under a rock somewhere, all hell has broken

loose in the city of Boston. An enormous amount of police activity in and around the area.

I do not think it is, it is hyping it to say it is unprecedented. I don't think it's

hyping it at all to say it is extraordinarily dramatic. We have two suspects in the bombing

of the Boston Marathon. We're being chased by police. One of the suspects is dead. The

other one, this 19 year old kid is still unaccounted for as of right now. And so anyway,

Dan's been at the radio station long enough. And so we're going to give him the day off.

Also, our friend Andrew Walsh, Andrew Walshki, as he's known in these parts, he is sick

today, which I think is probably more just a way for him to get out of talking about this

story tonight on his show, because sometimes doing these kind of endless breaking news events

are, you know, he would tell you not always his cup of tea, but regardless, it's me.
