Okay, okay, hold up. So you see the problem with recording a few shows in advance is that stuff happens

stuff that we should be talking about and we can't because when we recorded it hadn't

happened yet so specifically in this case I need to pester you about QED. Yes tickets for the next

QED event are now on sale and we have also announced our first batch of

speakers. They are Marcel Dick who is professor of entomology at Buckingham University in the Netherlands,

whose book The Insect Cookbook Food for a Sustainable Planet, argues that the Western world undervalues the contribution of insects to nutrition.

Also Lucy Green, a physicist based at the University College London,

and more famously a broadcaster appearing on such programs as the Sky at, Stargating Live and various science shows

for BBC Radio 4.

Then we have Dr Harriet Hall, who is a retired physician and former Air Force flight surgeon

who now blogs for the truly excellent science-based

medicine blog on Quackery alternative medicine, science and critical thinking.

Returning from the first QED we have Bruce Hood, who is in fact QED's very first speaker at our very first event back in 2011.

Shortly after appearing at QED, Bruce went on to present the Royal Institution Christmas lectures, for which we will cheerfully

take all the credit. Next up we have Dame Sue Ion, who is an advocate for nuclear power and a

recognized expert on fuel recycling.

Sue was also an advisor to the Blair government and her council brought about a change in that government's policy on nuclear power.

Finally, for now at least, is Rosie Waterhouse, senior lecturer in

journalism at the City University London who conducted extensive

investigations into the link between satanic abuse, Fos Memory Syndrome and moral panics.

We have lots of great speakers still to announce,

and those six are just the tip of the QED iceberg.
