Today we're going to be talking with Mark Brettler, who's a professor of Judeaic studies

at Duke University.

A few years ago, he and I worked on a book together with the late Roman Catholic New Testament

scholar Dan Harrington, called the Bible and the Believer, where we all talked about this

issue about how to be sort of a person of faith and also be a biblical scholar from a

Jewish point of view, a Protestant point of view, a Roman Catholic point of view.

That's where I got to know Mark.

And I just found what he had to say was so fascinating.
