On this episode of the podcast, we are recapping two videos from the jujitsu YouTube channel,

and both of these videos are focused on self-defense and jiu-jitsu.

The first video is titled Brazilian jiu-jitsu or Japanese jiu-jitsu,

and in this video, it she addresses whether Brazilian jiu-jitsu or Japanese jih Tzu is better for self-defense

and discusses the differences between the two.

The second video is titled How I Use B.J.J. in a street fight and why I like the belt gauntlet.

So the first half of the video is more geared towards self-defense where Chui discusses being in some situations where he has to use his jiu-jitsu to protect himself.

The second part of the video is more of a Q&A session where Chui addresses some questions that he got on YouTube.

Question from our buddy Martin, who's wanting to get into either Japanese Jiu-Jitsu or Brazilian

Jiu-Jitsu for self-defense purposes.

But he says he's not sure which one.

On the outside looking in, it looks like Japanese

jih Tjitsu is going to be the way to go because it combines throws, takedowns, sweeps, finishes the

whole thing, where it looks like Brazilian jih Tjitsu is a little bit more focused on the sport,

and it seems to be more focused on the groundwork rather than the stand-up and everything else.

And he's wondering what my opinion is and sort of where I would sort of guide him to. So Martin, first off, thanks for the question, brother. And let me say

that no matter what I say in this video, keep in mind that everything in this video is going

to be said with a bias towards Brazilian jiu jih jih Tzu because it's coming from me, a Brazilian
