I read an interview with this one journalist who had covered these people, and he said

that part of the point of the subculture that we're talking about today was exactly to make

uncool millennials repeat the slang and humiliate themselves. And I'm going to be real with you,

themselves are the people who talk like this earnestly. I don't need to like worry about sounding

the subculture's incredible semantic generativity, the fact that it's just like has a lot of terms to go along with it, right?

My suspicion is it's kind of straight incels trying to do the gay community.
