The rule of law is not just some lawyer's turn of phrase. It is the very foundation of our democracy.

The essence of the rule of law is that like cases are treated alike.

That there not be one rule for Democrats and another for Republicans, one rule for the powerful, another for the powerless, one rule for the rich, and another for the poor, or different rules depending upon one's race or ethnicity.

To serve as attorney general at this critical time is a calling I am honored and eager to answer.

Also indictments in Manhattan for straw donors to mayor Eric Adams and another letter from the prosecutor that investigated Hunter Biden to congressional Republicans.

Yep, another letter and we also have a Fulton County grand jury selection is now underway. That's in the Trump at all case down down in Georgia.

Also, a Trump judge has denied the Department of Justice's motion for a stay pending your appeal of the injunction barring federal agencies from communicating with social media companies and a proposed dick measuring contest.

The one where he's being sued for defamation by Shay Moss and Ruby Freeman. And we went over part of this over the weekend on the bonus episode for patrons.

But new stuff is happening. So just to give a little background here on the 5th of July in response to the judge ordering Rudy to pay sanctions for failing to produce documents during discovery.

Moss and Freeman submitted a detailed list of the costs related to the discovery dispute because you can't just get all your lawyers costs.

Paid when you file a sanctions motion, it's just related to them trying to get Rudy to just produce documents during discovery.

And the total there came to $89,172.50. And that is based on something called laughing. Can you talk about that for a second?

Yeah. So there's a lot of different ways that attorneys build clients. Some of it they'll do about the project. Sometimes they have like what their advertised rate is, but typically, especially when you get to big law firms, it's like buying a car. Nobody pays the sticker.

So what there's a scale, it's like a big matrix called the laughing matrix, where the sort of rates that the government has agreed to reimburse counsel, you know, based on their time practicing the level within their firm with their partners there and associate our paralegal, they kind of sets out like the set agreement.
