And I'm very excited for this podcast. Our guest today is Michael Vandenham.

Michael is a staple to the North American cyclocross circuit. He's a four-time Canadian

national champion. He's tallied six UCI cyclocross race wins. He's a four-time Canadian national champion.

He's tallied six UCI cyclocross race wins.

He's raced the world championships of very impressive seven different occasions.

And in saying that, I realized perhaps it's my biggest oversight of this interview by not having asked him by the time he was involved in a bit of a tumble

in the 2023 cyclocross world championships. And he was seen by millions of people around the world

when he snapped his finger back into place having dislocated it. Cyclocross racers are tough.

But we're not here to talk about crashes. We still have very fun time today talking about all

things two wheels.

So I bring him on to the show because he is a lengthy list of palm race. He's someone with

whom I bumped shoulders with many times over the years in gravel races, but he's only dipped

his toe into it up until this point. He has recently announced his retirement from the

professional cyclerross circuit having

raced in a year, decade and a half.

And naturally, gravel is a handy next step, and he was right there in the mix of recent

mid-south gravel race just a few weeks ago.

Michael has plenty on his plate as the new team coach for Canada on the cycler cross side.

He has a one-year-old at home and a newfound discipline who trained for in the form of gravel,

so I'm thrilled to have one of the nicest guys and newest faces and fiercest competitors on the gravel circuit here on the show.
