Remember, this podcast is meant to go in order to give you context for what we're going to talk about.

Now, we're actually re-recording an episode that we did a long time ago before the

year of Polygamy podcast started. It's one that people have asked for over and over and over

again. And right now, the FMH podcast is down. We're working on getting all of that backup.

The server that was hosting at Whitefields crashed and they were unable to recover the login information for me.

So we have to restore it one episode at a time.

So we're working on that.

But in the meantime, we're going to talk about a really important event in the Latter-day

Saint overall restoration and Mormon history.

And that is the succession crisis, how people get power after

Joseph Smith is killed. Who takes over? And this is one of the biggest questions that happens in

the Mormon movement, in my opinion, that causes some of the most controversy. As we know,

there are so many hundreds of Mormon breakoff groups.

I just actually went to lunch today and learned about a new one

with a group that is both following the snufferite movement and are polygamous.

So there continues to be more and more and more breakoff groups

because our authority is messy.

So that's what we're going to talk about today.

We're going to sort of set the scene why this is so complicated, why this happens.

And I've brought back a lot of the All-Stars that did the original podcast.
