As you all all know, I pride myself on being a podcast where you can come after a confusing moment in politics and seek clarity.

And it is in all honesty that I let you know today on this particular subject, that being the impeachment hearing testimony of Gordon Sonlan,

I got nothing.

I have no idea where we're going at all.

Initially, watching his opening statement, his questioning by the Democrats, and his 45 minute questioning by the Republicans,

I kind of thought everybody got a little something to play with.

In a lot of ways it felt like... everybody got a little something to play with.

In a lot of ways it felt like a win-win to me.

Democrats get confirmation that the highest levels of the State Department and the White House were looped in on Sunland's activities in Ukraine.

Everyone was in the loop.

Republicans got a super chesty pushback on the mega shady irregular channels narrative.

The suggestion that we were engaged in some irregular or rogue diplomacy is absolutely false.

The Democrats get someone with first-hand knowledge,

saying that investigations were tied to a White House meeting.

But as of September 9th, you understood, did you not,

that President Trump either himself or through his agents

required that President Zelensky make a public announcement

of the two investigations that President Trump cared about in order to get both the

White House meeting and to release the security assistance.

Is that correct?

I believe that is correct.
