I met Jaya back in 2011, literally on the day I was mixing one of my first batches of our

kissed soil.

At the time, I was running our family business manufacturing compost tea brewing machines.

We hit it off pretty quickly, talking about different aspects of growing, and since that time,

Jaya's been the one coordinating much of our field research and testing, and one of my go-to guys regarding

beneficial insects, lighting, product testing, and much, much more.

Without further ado, though, here's our latest conversation.

I started off asking him a bit about how we first met in a little more of his

personal history. Yeah, when I met you, I seeked you out because I just got back from an

Elaine Ingham soil food web week long intensive. And we did, you know, we covered compost,

compost tea, microscopy. And so I came back to Seattle looking for anyone who looked at their soil or compost under
