I'm your host Lindsay, thank you so much for being here today.

Today we're listening to episode 117 and I'm talking with ultra runner Jackie Merritt.

Jackie grew up playing basketball and she realized she had a passion for long distance

running in college and she now holds numerous wins and course records ranging from the

marathon to 100 mile races.

Jackie placed seventh at Western States last year which is a really big deal after earning

a golden ticket into the race after placing second at the Georgia death race.

She's currently training for Western States this year for 2018 that'll go down in June

and she's got big goals and big dreams for that race.

Jackie runs for a Hoka 1-1 and Lily Trotters.

She's a physical therapist, holds a doctorate in biomechanics and is currently studying

neuroscience.

This was really fun because we're going to talk about the mechanics of running and all

kinds of nerdy stuff like that in this episode as well.

Jackie is fast, she's smart and she is very dedicated to both her sport and her passion

for her career as well.
