Hi friends and welcome to Robcast 114 and this one is called seasons and it's called seasons

because yesterday we dropped our older son off at college. Now for the record he's going to

school here in the city in Los Angeles so it's not that far away but still

those of you who have dropped a kid off at college you know what I'm talking about.

Oh my word. It was it's like you have these tears just below the surface they're good tears

but they're tears because this is your boy and 18 years you've known this day was coming but

then the day comes. I'm like like almost choking up right now. There's a couple times Kristen was

like just keep him I could look over her and like she had that same look like she was trying to

hold back tears too so you just keep going you know what I mean you do the target run

uh you uh make sure there's enough you know coat hangers like that stuff but at one point she just

said stay strong just keep it in we'll lose it later. You know that feeling when you like hold

you like hold your emotions in for like seven hours straight and then partway through we realized

that our seven-year-old daughter it was just clicking to her because she was helping him put together

his new bed that he wasn't coming home with us because we've been talking about this like preparing

her but it's like all of a sudden she got it like what was happening and just watching her processing.

So uh yeah so today is the day after that day it's a change it's it's just uh you know your kid

going to school it's a it's a good thing it's a good grief it's happy and it's sad and I know

some of you know exactly what I'm talking about this ancient ritual of dropping your kid off

in their new apartment we're so happy for him and we're so happy for all of us uh but it's a new

season and seasons come and then they go one season ends and then another season starts so that's

what I'm thinking about today I'm thinking about how it's a new season so I want to talk about seasons

and I want to talk about energy and I want to talk about liminal space and I want to talk about
