Summary

For this episode of In Bed with the Right, Adrian and Moira return to the year 1933. They continue the story of how Hitler seized power, what it did to society, what it felt like to live through it, and -- as always -- what role gender and sexuality played in events. Reminder: We're going month by month for these episodes. This tenth installment covers December 1 to December 31, 1933. In this episode, Moira and Adrian close out the story of this terrible year, draw out some overall observations at the end of about 30 hours of recording and 15 hours of podcast, and trace the fates of some of the protagonists of this series after 1933. Thank you for staying with this series for hours and hours of this complicated and depressing story!

So, Adrian, today is actually kind of a big day for us.

0:55.5

Kind of a big day. Because this is the final installment of Project 1933, your opus, the project that really,

I think, remade this podcast under your direction, under your, you know, stewardship.

How do you feel about bringing it to an end?

1:12.0

It's feeling pretty real right now. I've got to say, we've spent a lot of time researching

this, talking about this, preparing it, and recording it. I mean, I think there must be something

1:20.5

like, what, 14 to 16 hours of us talking about this one year on whatever app you use to get your podcast, that's not nothing.

1:30.5

It's also been, honestly, for me, a way to kind of deal with 2025.

1:35.4

This is my way of becoming clearer about what I think is happening and what I think is likely to happen next.

And then the other thing I should mention is that the other
