Lindsay, and today we have a really exciting guest, someone who, I don't have many people

who have had experience with the AUB who are still believing members.

And so I'm excited to bring on someone who has a very unique story, which, I mean, it's

unique to people listening who have no interactions with fundamentalism.

But I would say in the fundamentalist sense, it's actually quite a common story, at least

in a lot of ways. I think it's fascinating and people

are going to be excited to hear this. So Marona, Jessup, can you say hello? Hi. So Marona, you have a

very, very interesting story and you've been blogging about this for a few years. Do you want to tell

us briefly a little bit about yourself right now?

Sure. Well, I've always said to kind of tell everything that you want to know about me just based on my name. My name is Maroni Lopez Jessup. And Maroni, I obviously come from Mormon roots. Lopez.

I also come from Latino roots. And Jessup, I have a fundamentalist background. My

family was part of the fundamentalist movement that separated from the church and started

circa the 1920s. And yet, even though I have that background, I myself was raised in the LDS Church.

Yeah, so that's kind of where I want to start because, like I said, on this podcast, we've

covered lots of things.
