heavily bombed place on Earth. Its submarine and air attacks on axis-supply

convoy were all that kept Rommel from marching across North Africa, but Malta

was at a fuel. Operation pedestal was Malta's last hope, a giant convoy with more

than 50 warships, escorting 13 freighters and one life or death oil tanker, the

SS Ohio, which was carrying just over 100,000 barrels of oil from Texas. And it

was bombed torpedoed, attacked over and over again and eventually abandoned and

it's damaged in its sinking. But two American merchant mariners jump aboard,

repair the guns enough and literally take on the attacks by the axis. Why

this thing is being towed on its way to Malta while it's sinking. So it's an

amazing story. Obviously it makes it Malta is resupplied and Rommel is, you

know, they're able to push him back. But it is an absolutely amazing story. I think
