but much more importantly we talked about the Piracy Act of 1677.

That act turned John Coxon from a law-abiding privateer captain into an outlaw.

And in truth, it was really his own decision to continue his trade that made him a

pirate, but that Act also turned thousands of other English privateers into, well, frankly,

for most of them, it turned them into unemployed privateers, except for those very few like Coxon.
