I'm Ronald D. Moore, executive producer and developer of the Outlander series and joined today by Matt Roberts who wrote this episode.

Hello everyone. It's good to be here.

All right, well this is an interesting show.

We knew starting off for the second half of the season.

We wanted to sort of change the game a little bit

until this episode from Jamie's point of view,

which I thought would be a great thing to do because if you

look at the overall series of all the books, it's really about Claire and Jamie, not just about

Claire.

So this was an opportunity to sort of pivot and tell the audience

that doesn't know the books as well.

Hey, it's not just Claire's story, it's also Jamie's story.

So let's tell this episode from his point of view.

Now, and we're using Jamie's voice over, obviously, for the first time to kind of root ourselves in his point of view.

But we went kind of back and forth on this, as I recall, over the development of the script.

We did the first draft of this the script we had Jamie's voice over written in it and

as we went through as we went through the

conceit might not have worked because the conceit might not have worked because we were so used to hear

in Claire but in once you got into post I think we decided hey it really let's put it back because it really worked

It might help tell the story and yeah might to get into his mind. Yeah, I think I remember thinking in post the first time I watched it felt like two separate

episodes.
