Hello and welcome to the podcast for Outlander episode 108 both sides now I'm

Ronald D. Moore executive producer and developer of the Outlander

television series and I am coming to you, well not really live from Los Angeles after the

rap of season one. I am by myself this time out for this particular podcast.

My lovely and talented wife is still

back in Scotland. The Jen for this evening is 2009 and I smoked away too many

cigarettes at the rap party and still feeling it so the smoking lamp is out.

Okay, episode 108, this was a really interesting show to work on all the way back to the story break in the writer's offices.

We were looking at, we knew what the cliffhanger was going to be in the mid-season finale.

That was sort of apparent very early on in fact in the early

sketch of the the season that I originally pitched to star stars we were talking

about the 16 episodes I always said that well the mid-season is clearly Jamie in the

window at the moment when Jack Randall has clear been

over the table.

It was a memorable scene for the book and it was a natural cliffhanger and it was also roughly

halfway through the story and through the book.

So it was always sort of easy to say, well, that's the cliffhanger.

Once we'd set that in motion, the next question was, okay, well, what is the body of the

episode?

It takes place clearly after the wedding episode, which is the big, you know, the thing

everyone's been waiting for. You know where you're going to, which is the big you know the thing everyone's been waiting for you know where you're

going to which is the cliffhanger and then what else is that in that episode we
