Joining us to discuss this scarily good video game tie-in novel is Rebecca Mahoney, a Y.A. writer

and the co-creator of the independent audio

drama The Bridge podcast. Hi. Thanks much for having me. Hi. All right. So this, as I stated,

it's a tie-in novel to the video game series Five Nights at Freddy's, which I am familiar with mainly because

it keeps making children scream inside the library.

And I've never played it.

And I never will play it.

And you cannot make me play it.

But it is, if you're not familiar with the concepts at all congratulations because it's pretty

popular um you've avoided it it's the premise is basically you're the security guard at freddy

fathsbear's pizza which is like chucky cheeses or the animatronic band of animals, but at night

they come alive and try to attack you.

And so the game is full of like jump scares where the animals jump out at you and make the

children scream at the library.

And that, again, that's like what I know about it.

And so when we, we knew there were books based on this video game series and we kind of just thought like, okay, like books based on that premise, they're probably kind of shitty.

That seems like our brand, especially when we're looking for like spooky Halloween books.
