Before we get any further into this, I do want to say, first of all, as a podcast,

we're not great about remembering to start off with content warnings in the recording.

But as a note, this book and our

discussion of it has just any content warning for any upsetting content you could imagine,

including but not limited to rape, specifically of a child, physical and emotional abuse,

of the emotional abuse. And I mean, if you're familiar with VC Andrews, it's not like a

surprise, probably, but I will say I was surprised about all the shit that's in this book. I was like,

oh, I know. You know, we

previously read Flowers in the Attic for this podcast, and that was the only B.C. Andrew's book I had read before this, but I was just like, oh, yeah, I feel like I get it. Like, I kind of know what B.C. Andrew's whole situation is. And then I read this and I was like, oh, this is so much. This is so many things.
