Hey everyone, I'm Mike Levy, and today we're recording this about 1,600 miles south of

Squamish, BC, where Pink Bike Headquarters is located.

That's because we're in sunny Tucson, Arizona for the upcoming value bike field test. This time

around, we've got nine bikes, including four hardtails that come in around $2,000 or well under.

I think they actually start off at about $1,500, and five full suspension bikes that range from

$2,600 to $3,500 American. But all of those videos, well, they're

probably more than a month away from being released. So we're not going to dive too deep into

how those bikes are performing just yet. That's definitely going to happen in a later podcast.

But in this show, we will talk a little about how they're performing, but we're also going

to talk about how we're doing out here in the desert. We're all very red. We have a lot of cactus

holes in us, so there's that. Speaking of holes, I've also got Mike Kazimer here with me,

making sure that things are happening, and we're not just sitting around the pool tanning all day,

although we're doing some of that as well. I've also

got Alicia Laked here and Beda's Ryan Palmer for his first pink pod. Hey, Kaz, before coming here,

had you ever seen a rattlesnake on the trail? Yeah, I've seen rattlesnakes before. I grew up in

Connecticut and we had timber rattlesnakes and then I lived in Colorado, plenty of rattlesnakes there, and then the one we saw the other day. You seemed awfully calm when Ryan, I heard Ryan screaming from about 100 feet above me, this

like high-pitched scream and then he jumped maybe like 15 feet in the air away from the snake.

I was not calm, Ryan.

You did not seem calm.

Was that the first rattlesnake you've seen on the trail?

It was not.

I've seen many rattlesnakes on trails. Like Kaz, I grew up on the East Coast and saw them back there.
