Hey, everyone. Welcome to the jewelry district. This is Victoria Gimelski, editor-in-chief of JCPay

and JCP Online.com, calling in from Los Angeles, and I'm with

Rob Bates, news director of JCPay and JCP online.com calling in from New York City.

How are you doing?

I'm okay, hanging in, you know, it's been a crazy week, but you're going to Istanbul, correct?

I am, well, and I should say we're recording this

on October 10th. So those of you who are listening, you know, this is going to be a couple

weeks old by the time you hear us, just due to some travel schedules, including my own. And I am

going to Istanbul. I'm actually going to visit the new Peninsula Hotel on the banks of the

Bosporus, which sounds delightful. So I'm taking some PTO days to do that, but I'm also going to visit the new Peninsula Hotel on the banks of the Bosporus, which sounds delightful.

So I'm taking some PTO days to do that, but I'm also going to try to see some jewelers,

including Savon, Sivan Bichakchi, who many of you will know is this incredibly talented Armenian

jeweler who's based near the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul.

I'm going to try to see Ada Bergson, another Istanbul-based jeweler. So, you know, I'll do my best to touch base with those designers that are really sort of the arbiters of contemporary Turkish jewelry style.

I'll be very close to a region that's, you know, we're going to discuss further today, but I'll be very, I'll be closer, much closer to a region that's at war at the moment.

So, you know, I feel like whenever you travel closer to that part of the world, you're much

more inundated with news and imagery.

Not that we have inundated with news and imagery here of what's happening in Israel and in Gaza.
