0:47.7	Hi, Rob. Yeah, I'm doing okay. We've got some really sad news to start today's episode with. You know, as I say, every time I introduce myself, I say I'm editor-in-chief of JCP.
0:58.8	And in my head, I can't help but think of all the predecessors that came before me
1:03.2	because this magazine has kind of been blessed with editors who stick around.
1:07.2	And for those of you who knew had a shoe pack, she was my immediate predecessor, the wonderfully talented, extremely respected, well-regarded editor of JCPay from 2000 to 2009 and a longtime editor at the magazine before she became editor-in-chief.
1:22.9	And she passed away just yesterday, which was Tuesday, October 3rd.
1:29.3	And I know, Rob, you knew her for many more years than I did because you worked so closely. So please tell us how did you hear and what?
1:34.5	Yeah, I mean, I heard of kind of Rush Shore told somebody who I eventually called Russ, and Russ
1:43.7	was also an editor at JCPK for a long time
1:46.2	and I worked with him for a little bit and I believe you worked with him at some point.
1:51.0	Russ was my original mentor in this industry. He'd left JCPK and had gone to work for a
1:56.6	startup called Jemkey.com and I was brand new to the industry and he'd hired me to be the
2:02.3	Pearl and Watch editor at Gemkey and this was before he went on to work as a senior diamond
2:07.3	industry analyst at GIA but for all those years from his time at JCPK through Gemkey through to
2:13.7	GIA and into retirement he was such a a dear, dear friend of Hedas.
2:18.5	They were so close and were constantly hanging out at trade shows and having dinners together.
2:23.5	And I felt like whenever Russ was, you know, nearby, headed wasn't too far.
