Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Year Plygamy podcast.

I'm your host, Lindsay, and we are bringing you one of six of the episodes of Year of Plygamy a year later.

I'm really excited to talk to someone who knows about this experience firsthand. Her name

is Brenda Nicholson, and she left the FLDS about four years ago. Brenda, can you say hello?

Hi, this is Brenda. I'm glad to be here. So Brenda, tell us a little bit about yourself and your

background. Okay. So my parents actually joined the FLDS. They were

converted to it when I was a baby. I was actually born in California. And then they moved to Utah

before I was a year old. So the FLDS is all that I ever knew.

But we, because we converted and so many of the families that are part of it go back generations

and are all related to each other, we were possibly not as involved in things because we were kind of just our own little thing until we started going to school.

Now, when you say converted, did you convert from the LDS church or what did you convert from?

Yes, they converted from the LDS church.

Okay, I interrupted you.

So what else were you saying?

Oh, I was just saying that because we weren't related to the other people, we were kind of just our own thing just as our family until we started going to school at the Jeff School, Alta Academy.
