What is up, you spooky bitches? Welcome back to another episode of the Hello Sydney podcast, a podcast for

horror lovers where we discuss any and all things horror. And it's me, your girl, Sydney. And today is a very

special episode because this is episode 100, which just sounds insane to me. Like, that's a lot of

episodes. How have we gotten here? How have we been doing this for this

long? But it is. And I'm so happy about it. And I had to pick a movie that is one of my favorite

movies today. And what better to pick for a hundredth episode movie than a movie that's going

to emotionally destroy you and sit there feeling numb and bleak as fuck and just

thinking about it all the time. And that's why I love this movie that we're talking about today.

I think it is highly, highly criminally underrated. And the movie we're talking about, of course,

is summer of 84. And this movie came out in 2018. And when it came out, it really flew under the

radar. I honestly don't even remember how I heard about it. Actually, I just lied to you. I do.

This is one of the many movies that I found out about through Shutter. So shout out to Shutter.

It's not on there anymore. But it was back and probably like, I don't know, maybe right around the

time it came out, 2018, 2019. But either way, I saw this movie and it like changed my brain chemistry

in the ending. And the thing that I love about

this movie is they have made it very clear that they are not making a sequel to it. Like it is a movie

that very much ends on a cliffhanger and ends leaving you wanting more because you need to know what

happened. And they're like, we're not making a sequel. Like fuck you guys. The whole point of it is for you

to feel gutted not knowing what happened which like i respect the hell out of that i have heard

a rumor that there is a sequel that's been in talks called august of 2001 or august of oh one which does not
