Good morning and welcome to the Increase Your Impact podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 1,999.

0:10.6

We're getting closer. Actually, tomorrow is the day for 2000. Thanks for being with me.

0:16.3

And this episode, I want to read to you something that I got from Brain Food. It's from Shane Parrish.

0:22.0

It's a newsletter. I don't sign up for a lot of newsletters. And this is one I not only sign up

0:27.4

for, but I read every single time. Shane Parrish is awesome. Great person as well. In this one,

0:32.8

he talks about the different types of hard work. We always hear about hard work. We preach it. We hope to

0:41.0

display it. We encourage our family members and our employees to do this. And he comes up with

0:46.5

1:37.1

And so you position yourself to be there when the wave hits. You're getting ready to ride the wave.

1:43.0

And so it might not look like you're

1:45.9

working hard, but it's very smart. Kind of like number one and number two combined. Number four,

1:51.4

consistency. This is doing average things for a very long time. Consistency over intensity. Just that

1:59.4

drip effort every single day. And number five is focus,

2:04.7

hard work in a form of saying no to distractions. And so there you have it. Five types of hard work.

2:12.8

Outthinking, pure effort, opportunistic, consistency, and focus. And it goes on to say that each of these require a

2:20.7

different type of hard work. And so my question to you is, which one of those really resonate with you?
