It says this, quote, success is often a product of environment. While a polar bear might thrive in the Arctic, it would not thrive in a desert. People are no different. The person who excels in one environment fails in another. Understanding how environments impact performance changes how you hire. Employees who thrive in one environment easily fail in another if their performance was contingent on the workplace

conditions. This is why hiring a superstar away from a competitor without understanding the role of

the environment on performance often fails, close quote. We have spoken about this on this podcast.

I can't remember what episode, but Kurt Lewin, who is a famous

psychologist, said that behavior is a function of environment times personality. Essentially,

the environment, as James Clear says, is the invisible hand that shapes behavior. And so my question

to you is to consider your environment. Is your environment conducive to bringing out the best in you?

Yes, you have things you can control, you have your own attitude, your perspective, how you

respond to things, but environment plays in a huge role, a huge role. And so my invitation to you

is to create your environment, curate your environment

to put you in the best position to be the best version of yourself. And so how can you go about
