Now, Napoleon was a general, and he wrote a book, many, a few books, but there's this one quote in particular I like, and he's talking about the difference between how he approached the planning phase

and the execution phase of his military strategy. He says this quote, there's no man more careful

than I when I am planning a campaign. I purposely exaggerate all the dangers and all the calamities

that the circumstances make possible. I am in a thoroughly

painful state of agitation during planning. Once I've made up my mind, everything is forgotten

except what leads to success. So timid and careful when planning, yet bold and relentless when acting.

I particularly liked those last two sentences.

It's just been really resonating with me lately.

Just the difference between the difference in approach between planning and then the execution part.

A lot of people get so tied up in planning.

I think it's so easy to fall into productive

procrastination because we want to plan and be perfectionistic with our plan. When the truth is

planning will start to plant seeds of procrastination and you might think you're being productive,

but the reality is you're not

and then when it comes down to execution when you properly plan then you can freely

execute if you were able to take a look at all of the contingency plans all of the things

that could possibly go wrong and you plan for them you mitigate for them you, you have an idea how you're going to respond, and then you relentlessly
