I recently read a quote that says, beautiful winds won't take us anywhere if we don't have our sales open.

Beautiful wins won't take us anywhere if we don't have our sails open.

I really like that because when I hear this quote, it reminds me of my time working with

the soldiers that were in the Warriors and Transition units, which you could even say wounded

warriors.

Here we have a group of military soldiers who whose lives have been severely effective,

devastated in most cases, in many cases where now not only are they trying to just survive,

but they're trying to thrive rather, but they're trying to survive or thrive, rather, but they're trying to survive.

And they're trying to survive a new lifestyle, a new identity. Limbs are gone. Their whole lives

are completely different. But one of the things that I have learned, or I did learn from my

experience working with this wonderful unit is that some of them approach this quote differently than others.

Beautiful wins don't take us anywhere if we don't have our sales open.

And in the case that I'm thinking about, the sales are our minds. So great opportunities will be missed

if you don't have your mind open, if you don't have your eyes open for those opportunities.

I saw two types of people. I saw one group who saw their devastating situation as an opportunity, an opportunity to do

things differently, an opportunity to make adjustments, to have a new life, a new identity,

new goals. And then I saw another group who did not see it as an opportunity. They saw it as an obstacle that was unbearable

and could never be overcome. Now, what I'm not saying is you just got to get over it and life

happens. Some of those people who had closed minds ended up opening up their minds over time.

And some of those people who were going through very difficult things, it ended up getting better over time. They ended up figuring it out.

Now there was a whole bunch of other things that had to be taken in consideration,
