1,836. The reminder for today is to remember how important it is to expect adversity. A lot of people

struggle because they expect sunshine and rainbows. They expect their work to pay off immediately.

They expect all over their training to translate immediately into the games or the performance.

But that is not reality. One thing we talk to our kids about all the time. My wife and I is

to give your absolute best, but expect adversity.

And when you expect adversity, you expect it to be difficult.

You expect yourself to overcome tough times.

You expect uncertainty.

You expect chaos.

You expect things to not go the way you want them to go.

Now, this isn't to be down on yourself. This isn't to be negative, to have negative thoughts and to be a Debbie downer. Sorry to Debbie's out there. It's just a phrase.

But it's to be able to properly calibrate your expectations. Because when you expect it be difficult, when you expect adversity, then it turns into

deciding what you're going to do about it, deciding how you're going to respond,

preparing your mind and your body and your strategy to respond effectively to adversity.

Because if you expect everything to be well, once you get punched in the face, all of a sudden,
