| 0:00.0 | Good morning. Welcome to the Increase Your Impact podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 1,815. Today we're talking about |
| 0:08.2 | avoiding bad decision-making traps. We all make decisions every single day. And there are certain things that we |
| 0:16.5 | do and certain things that we don't do that can hinder decision-making. So I want to go over some |
| 0:21.8 | traps, some things that make us susceptible to making bad decisions. The first one is called |
| 0:27.7 | H-A-L-T-P. H-A-T-P, H stands for hungry, A stands for angry, L stands for lonely, T-stance |

| 1:33.4 | hurry to do something, hurry to get to a certain destination, hurry to complete a project, |
| 1:38.9 | we're prone to making bad decisions. Number five, information overload. If you have not created an organization |
| 1:45.5 | in your mind, if there's too much information coming in, we're likely to miss very important |
| 1:52.0 | information. As the saying goes, if you're chasing two rabbits, you catch none. Number six, |
| 1:58.3 | uncertainty destroys decision making. It causes us to feel |
| 2:03.8 | unsafe, lack security, and when we feel that way, we are prone to making very bad in the |
| 2:10.7 | moment decisions. We're willing to sacrifice what we want most for what we want now. And number seven is a new |
