Good morning and welcome to the Increase Your Impact podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 1,738.

When I was in sophomore in high school, many, many years ago, I will never forget one day when the varsity baseball coach asked me to come join the varsity team during infield practice to have a practice with the varsity team.

And I was nervous. I was excited. I was confident in my abilities, but at the same time,

you're with the best in the class. You're with the best team. And the team is very good,

one of the best in the nation. And I played third base. Now for those who are not familiar with baseball, there's something

called infield outfield drills where you take ground balls, you throw the ball across the

field and get your body warmed up, get your arm warmed up. And it's just kind of something

you do every

single day. Now, I was at third base with the best player on the team. He was a senior. I was a

sophomore. Every throw he made was right in the chest. He was a lot bigger than me, a lot stronger

than me. He just made the game look a lot easier than I did at that

time. And so one thing that was happening is my throws were off course just a little bit,

just a little bit. The first baseman had to work a little bit to make plays in order to

get the runner out.

But the story is interesting because I'll never forget.

For some reason, this is a core memory, and I don't know why I remember this, but I remember these little deviations from being on course, these little things.

And again, I was nervous, I was tense.

And the third baseman looked at me someone who I highly respect at the time and he looks at me goes let's go sue a step your game up

now what's interesting about that is I wasn't doing anything terrible I wasn't making these

drastic mistakes.

I was just off course just a little bit.

But I still to this day remember this senior who I highly respected looked at me and he said,
