Good morning and welcome to the Increase Your Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Sue, episode 1,731. Today we are talking about reframing stress.

Stress is good until it is bad. A lot of times we call this the Yerkes-Dodson's law, which is essentially another way to state the law of diminishing returns.

One cookie is good. Two cookies is better, but 20 cookies is bad. And so it's good until it's

bad, whatever number that is for you. So stress can be helpful. It could strengthen, give you strength,

it could enhance motivation, it can enhance focus, give you energy. However, too much stress or too

much perceived stress can constrict muscles. It can tighten your, narrow your attention and your focus. It can get you,

cause you to worry and to doubt yourself and to begin to hinder your confidence. And so

sometimes stress gets a bad rap. So what do you do? What you do is you start by interpreting,

reinterpreting stress. Instead of viewing that racing heart

and the sweaty palms and the anxiousness that you feel as something is wrong, you can repurpose it

and change the way you view those physiological feelings as your body preparing you to compete.

You can view it as you're ready,

that you're excited and you're not scared,

you're not afraid, but you're excited,

your body preparing you to be the best version of yourself

reinterpreting stress. Pressure is a privilege. It is good. It is helpful. It might not be
