Good morning and welcome to the Increasing Impact Podcast. I'm Justin Suwe, episode 1,724. Today we're talking about measurement and definitions.

It's important occasionally to go back and to define and redefine certain things that matter to you.

So, for example, if I were to ask you,

what is your current definition of success? What would you say? What is your current definition

of success? Now, another way to ask that is what does success look like to you today?

Now, notice I use the word current, notice I use today, because as you evolve, your definition of success will evolve.

So what does it look like for you today?

Another question to ask yourself is, how do you measure it? How do you personally measure it?

How do you know when you go to bed at night as you stare up into your ceiling, how do you know you are

pointing towards your definition of success? How do you know that how you spent your day

got you one or two or three steps closer to that definition? And so it's important to identify

and to define success, to define what makes you happy, to define define your purpose to define these things that are

important to you because at the end of the day those are the things that matter most and for people

who don't define these things they find themselves getting sidetracked getting distracted

when you don't have a direction it's easy to lose your way.

It's easy to get distracted by the shiny things of life and to follow what the crowd deems as important.

What the crowd and everybody else deems as what success looks like.

And at the end of the day, you might think, you might realize that success you were chasing

actually doesn't matter to you at all. It's just you were chasing it because everybody

else was chasing it because you never took the time to pause and identify what it looks like for you.

Now, what's interesting about this exercise is that when you do it, you might question your

path.
