episode 1,715. Today is a reminder that the physical feeling of being nervous is very identical,

if not exactly the same as the feelings of feeling excited.

So when you're excited and when you're nervous, your body is going to have many of the same physiological experiences. Your heart rate's going to go up.

You might sweat.

You might breathe heavy.

Your arms and legs might feel tingly because the blood is rushing to those limbs.

And what happens sometimes is people will interpret the nerves as bad. You'll interpret the nerves as

anxiousness and a feeling that is so uncomfortable that you need to avoid and you'll tell

yourself, calm down, calm down. And then you'll try to calm yourself down and then what happens, it gets worse.

And now you are nervous and anxious because you are nervous and anxious.

Something you can try today, instead of telling yourself to calm down, tell yourself,

Feeling the nerves is part of the process.

Don't try to push them away because the things you resist to persist.
