And one of the things that's really important for me as I have become a more aware ally and wanting to be someone who is proactive in helping people feel safe and supported is the recognition that |
2:15.0 | as a leader in business, that this is something that I think previously we pushed under the rug or don't ask don't tell was the policy that I grew up with, right? |
2:25.0 | Whereas now we realize that people need to feel seen. They need to feel validated. They need to feel safe and that we can do that as leaders in a workforce and as people in our own lives. So I have a lot of parental listeners and I would argue that being a parent is also being a leader. |
2:43.0 | Like we are, we are the leaders of our household. My dogs believe that I am the leader of the path of my kids. I hope as well. And so I feel like it's so important as a parent to teach my children that it's their responsibility to help advocate and to speak up and to be inclusive and to foster these acceptance and all of this kind of stuff that moves forward. And I think that can feel overwhelming. |
