On today's episode, we're going to be talking about the dawn of what's known as the age of discovery.

You see, when you're telling any story, really, but especially a historical story, I think it's

important to give the necessary background information to really paint a picture of the world in which we find ourselves.

And when you're talking about piracy in the Caribbean, around the beginning of the 1700s,

I think the logical place to do that is the age of discovery.

That is the time when explorers from Europe explored really all over the world to places most of them

had never even heard of, but most importantly to our story was when they traveled west and discovered

explored and subsequently colonized the new world, what's known as the Americas.

Now this the New World, what's known as the Americas.

Now, this is kind of a foolish undertaking because to talk about the age of discovery is a huge

topic.
