and I'm here of course with my good friend Cynthia.

Hi Cynthia. Hello Susan glad to be here with you today.

Are you ready to do this? Are we ever ready? We just kind of jump in.

I guess we do, but I'm particularly excited about the title of today's episode.

The topic today is the rule breaking woman.

Anyone who knows me may not be that surprised that that topic gets me a little bit excited.

You know there's that well-known marvelous line from Laurel Thatcher Ulrich that says,

well-behaved women seldom make history.

Yes.

Sometimes in order to get what we need, we have to make decisions or do things that might be

at odds with cultural norms or beliefs or you know some of the behaviors that

people might expect from us. And I think that that's part of just becoming a

grown-up basically, right? I think so. And certainly part of owning your spiritual life

but it's not a part of it that I feel like we talk about very much in our

Mormon lives.

And so today we're going to touch on that.

For this conversation, before anyone gets too nervous, I should tell you that we're going to
